Hochalp Hut.

Walk from Warth, including the ascent on the Steffisalp Express.

Distance: approx. 2.5 km
A comfortable start to your mountain adventure – that’s what the Steffisalp Express offers, whisking you up to the heights in no time. Those who prefer to climb the altitude under their own steam can also set off on foot from Warth or the Hotel Jägeralpe.
Once at the top, the first highlight awaits: the Spitzige Stein – a striking rock formation with a summit cross and impressive panoramic views.

Around the Karhorn.
Difficulty: moderate
Distance: approx. 14 km
The walk starts at the top station of the Steffisalp-Express and initially heads towards Wannenkopf – a leisurely start with magnificent views. The route then continues to the historic Walser settlement Bürstegg, the highest Walser settlement in Vorarlberg.
Up here, you can really feel the region’s past: old buildings, the traditional cultural landscape and the tranquillity of the mountains make this a special place to stop off. Perfect for a short break before the trail continues.

Walk from the Hochtannberg Pass.
Difficulty: moderate
Distance: approx. 12 km
The tour starts at Kalbelesee, which lies beside the footpath like a glistening mountain eye. The route winds gently up and down towards Körbersee – one of the region’s most beautiful natural spots.
Before the path descends to the lake, a narrow track branches off to the left. This leads uphill along a farm track towards Salobersattel and on to Saloberkopf.
Hochalphütte.
The Hochalphütte combines alpine cosiness with regional culinary delights. After a hike or a cycle ride, the sun terrace is the perfect spot for a relaxing break with a stunning view.
Whether it’s hearty classics, regional specialities or sweet treats – here, a traditional mountain hut atmosphere meets culinary highlights. A perfect place to really savour the mountain scenery and recharge your batteries.

Auenfelder Hut.

Walk starting from Warth.
Difficulty: moderate
Distance: approx. 10 km
If you set off from Warth, you can easily reach the mountain station on the Steffisalp-Express. From there, the route first takes you past the Spitziger Stein, which offers stunning views. It’s well worth taking a quick look behind the striking rocks: There you’ll find a small reservoir, nestled amongst flowering alpine meadows.
The route then continues over the Salobersattel up to the Saloberkopf. A short detour to the Panoramasee (Hochalpspeichersee) rewards you with impressive views of the surrounding mountains.

Walk from the Hochtannberg Pass.
Difficulty: moderate
Distance: approx. 10 km
From the Hochtannberg Pass, the footpath first takes you past Lake Kalbele to the idyllic Lake Körber. After a short break by the water, the route continues into the Auenfeld. The path winds pleasantly through the valley, following the stream to the Auenfelder Hütte.
Here, you can enjoy a delightful stop for refreshments featuring regional specialities before taking the same route back to the Hochtannberg Pass at a leisurely pace.

Walk starting from Schröcken.
Difficulty: moderate
Distance: approx. 10 km
Ascent: approx. 450 hm
There is also a varied hiking route leading to the Auenfelder Hut from Schröcken. The trail begins behind the parish church and runs past the Alpe Felle and the impressive Gletschermühle to the Batzenalpe. From there, it continues through the Auenfeld along the stream to the hut.
After a pleasant stop for refreshments, it’s well worth – depending on your fitness and time – taking a detour to Körbersee before the walk leads back to Schröcken or on to the Hochtannberg Pass.
Tip: The route is also ideal for a varied mountain bike ride.
Auenfelder Hut.
Nestled amongst lush alpine meadows, a babbling mountain stream and the gentle slopes of the Auenfeld lies the Auenfelder Hut – a popular stop-off for walkers and cyclists.
The cosy sun terrace and warm atmosphere invite you to linger. The hut is particularly well known for its varied selection of dumpling specialities. The menu is complemented by regional snacks, sweet classics and homemade delicacies – the ideal refreshment for a successful day in the mountains.

Körbersee.

Walk from the Hochtannberg Pass.

Distance: approx. 2.2 km
The shortest route to Körbersee starts at the Hochtannberg Pass. From there, a wide, well-maintained footpath leads past the idyllic Kalbelesee directly to Körbersee. This easy route is ideal for families, leisurely walkers and anyone who wants to reach the lake without too much effort.

Walk starting from Schröcken.
Difficulty: moderate
Distance: approx. 4.6 km
Ascent: approx. 440 hm
If you’d like to tackle a bit more elevation gain, choose the varied route starting from Schröcken. The footpath begins behind the parish church and initially heads towards Alpe Felle.

The Steffisalp-Express takes you comfortably to the mountain station, allowing you to start your hike at a leisurely pace. From there, the trail first leads to the Spitziger Stein, a striking rock with a summit cross and magnificent views.
A special highlight is the small reservoir behind the rock. Nestled amongst flowering alpine meadows, it’s the perfect spot for a short stroll or a leisurely break.

Körbersee – a lake straight out of a picture book:
But the lake is far more than just a popular day-trip destination. Nestled within a protected nature reserve and surrounded by imposing mountains, it ranks among the most impressive landscapes in Vorarlberg.
Berghotel Körbersee.
After a hike, the Berghotel Körbersee invites you to enjoy a relaxing break right on the lakeshore. Whether it’s homemade apple strudel, a slice of Sacher torte or the popular Käsfladen – here, regional specialities are paired with an exceptional view.
Those wishing to extend their stay can discover the lake from a new perspective on a rowing boat trip or take a refreshing dip in the clear mountain waters on warm summer days.

Widderstein Hut.

Walk from the Hochtannberg Pass.
Difficulty: moderate
Distance: approx. 1.4 km
From the Hochtannberg Pass, a well-maintained footpath leads past the Untere Widdersteinhütte to the rustic Widdersteinhütte at the foot of the imposing Widderstein. The varied ascent is manageable and offers a series of impressive views of the surrounding mountains along the way.

About the Tschirggen.
Difficulty: moderate
Distance: approx. 12 km
Between the Hotel Jägeralpe and the Hotel Adler, a farm track branches off towards Tschirggen and the Koblat Pass. The route follows this track initially, until a narrow mountain path branches off to the left, climbing up to the Koblat Pass and continuing towards the Gemstel Pass.

3-Pass Tour: Koblat, Gemstel & Hochalp Passes.
Difficulty: moderate
Distance: approx. 12 km
Ascent: approx. 780 hm
Descent: approx. 520 hm
The walk starts in Warth and initially follows the Lechweg to Gehren. From there, the route follows the local path to the last house, where the ascent towards Gehrnerberg begins.
The well-marked hiking trail leads first to the Koblat Pass, then over the Gemstel Pass to the Widdersteinhütte. There, regional specialities and the impressive views invite you to take a well-deserved break.

Widdersteinhütte.
The Widdersteinhütte is idyllically situated at the foot of the Großer Widderstein and is a popular stop-off for walkers and mountaineers. The cosy sun terrace, warm hospitality and regional specialities make it the ideal place for an enjoyable break.

Even those who prefer to make the ascent or descent on foot rather than by cable car will pass right by this cosy hut.

Walk starting from Warth.
Difficulty: moderate
Ascent: approx. 350 hm
The walk begins at the valley station of the Steffisalp-Express. From there, the route first follows a farm track and then a narrower mountain path to the Punschhütte.
If you’d prefer to take it at a more leisurely pace, stay on the farm track and walk via the Lucheralpe to the hut.

The Punschhütte is a popular meeting place for walkers, mountaineers and via ferrata enthusiasts in the Warth-Schröcken walking area. The sunny terrace, warm hospitality and peaceful setting make it the ideal spot for a relaxing break.
