Warth Forest Circular Walk.
Covering a distance of around 5 kilometres and with an elevation gain of about 200 metres, the circular walk is also ideal for families with children. The forest is at its most beautiful just after a rain shower: the air is fresh and clear, the colours are particularly vibrant, and every step becomes a little adventure in nature.
Route description.
The walk starts at the village square in Warth. Passing the Haus Wallis, the path leads to Lake Seebach. The route then follows a forest track downhill to the B198. After a short stretch alongside the road, the path branches off to the right onto a wide gravel track. Follow this track to the Teschenberg junction. From there, the route follows the same track back to Warth and the village square.
Steffisalp Express – Hochalphütte – Hochtannberg Pass.
Route description.
The route begins with a journey on the Steffisalp Express from Warth to the mountain station. From there, a footpath leads to the Hochalphütte.
After the hut, the route continues uphill, past the Panoramasee and over the Saloberkopf. The path then leads downhill towards the Hochtannberg Pass.
A walk to Körbersee, the most beautiful spot in Austria.
Route description.
The walk starts at the Hochtannberg Pass by Lake Kalbele. From there, a well-maintained path leads to Lake Körber. After a break by the lake, the route continues to Alpe Batzen. There, you can stop for refreshments and buy some alpine cheese. The route then continues downhill along a wide gravel path to Schröcken.
Marmot Adventure Trail.
Whether it’s sunshine or a light drizzle – the Murmele Adventure Trail offers a variety of experiences whatever the weather. Fresh mountain air, exercise and exciting stations make the hike a lovely day out for the whole family.
Route description.
The Murmele Adventure Trail runs along the old road from Nesslegg to Schröcken-Heimboden. The entire route is tarmac-surfaced and is therefore also suitable for younger children. There are various activity stations along the trail, including a slackline, a balance beam, a small climbing wall, a woodpecker tree and a seesaw.
To the Walser settlement of Bürstegg.
Route description.
The walk begins with a journey on the Steffisalp-Express from Warth to the mountain station. From there, the path leads towards Wannenkopf and then continues downhill to the right towards Bürstegg. The former Walser settlement is a highlight of the walk and offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The route then continues downhill to Bodenalpe. The return journey to Warth is by hiking bus.
